Kubernetes for Architects
An intensive eight-week course covering production-grade Kubernetes operations, with on-call simulation labs.
Next cohort: 25 February 2025 · 14 seats
About this programme
This is not an introductory Kubernetes course. We assume you have deployed something to a cluster before and want to learn how to design, defend, and maintain a cluster you would happily put on the road. The on-call simulation labs in week six are the highlight — you will be paged at irregular intervals and asked to walk a mentor through your reasoning.
What is included
- Cluster sizing exercises with realistic workload telemetry
- On-call simulation labs with mentor-led incident reviews
- Multi-tenancy patterns including namespace and quota design
- GitOps walkthrough using Argo CD on a sandbox cluster
- Service mesh module covering when not to adopt one
- Reading list of three production post-mortems with structured questions
Outcomes you can speak to
- Run a structured incident review and produce a written timeline
- Defend a cluster sizing decision against a cost-conscious finance reviewer
- Write a runbook another engineer can follow without you in the room
Junseok Lim
Junseok runs the on-call simulation labs and authors the incident-review framework used in week six.
Common questions about this cohort
What recent learners said
“The on-call simulation in week six was the first time anyone had asked me to think out loud during an incident. I rewrote our team runbook the following Monday.”
“Brutal in the best way. Junseok asks the questions you secretly hope nobody will ask.”
“Solid course. Cluster sizing module saved us from a bad procurement decision the following quarter.”
